TX2 is shorthand for the global goal to double the world’s population of wild tigers by 2022 – the next Year of the Tiger in the Chinese/lunar calendar.
It was set in 2010 when all 13 tiger range governments came together for the first time at the Tiger Summit in St Petersburg, Russia, and it remains one of the most ambitious conservation goals ever set for a single species.
The Summit ignited political momentum at the highest levels and has resulted in the Global Tiger Recovery Plan, which provides a blueprint for each country to reach the TX2 goal.
WWF’s Tigers Alive Initiative was established to support this goal.
Through the Global Tiger Initiative, Global Tiger Forum and other critical platforms, WWF continues to drive the TX2 goal forward, supporting the 13 tiger range governments to take action and fulfil their commitments with partnership, policy advice, and collaborative solutions.

UWCSEA’s mission is to use education as a force to create a peaceful future, and to equip our students to bring this about in their lives beyond the College. Through the Service element of the UWCSEA learning programme, students (K1 to Grade 12) have age-appropriate opportunities to learn about global development and environmental challenges.
The Tiger Trail campaign gave Grade 12 student Olivia Huynh the opportunity to transform a fibreglass tiger sculpture into an art piece with a strong wildlife conservation message. Olivia drew inspiration from her sense of responsibility to protect wild tigers whose survival is subject to myriad pressures including habitat loss, poaching and illegal trade. Olivia also worked with fellow students who advocate for tiger conservation, to support their goal to raise awareness of the beauty and importance of tigers and the threat they are experiencing as a result of human behaviours.
As UWCSEA celebrates 50 years in Singapore, we recognise how important it is to commit to awareness initiatives, like Tiger Trails, that are aligned with our mission to use education to shape a sustainable future.

Venue Partner
Frasers Property Retail is a retail-focused platform under Frasers Property Singapore, including assets held across Frasers Property Singapore and Frasers Centrepoint Trust. This comprises 13 shopping malls in Singapore, including The Centrepoint, located in the heart of Orchard Road, suburban retail malls in highly-populated areas such as Causeway Point, as well as Waterway Point, Punggol’s first waterfront development.
From people to forests and wildlife, just as the built environment impacts our ecosystems, Frasers Property places emphasis on people, planet and places in our sustainability strategy and practice. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations are incorporated in every stage of our value chain. We are determined to work, learn and share with all our partners while on this journey.
